JILL M. SMITH, RT BOOKreviews.
TOP PICK! Dangerous and crazy are two epithets that
have been used to describe this unique and powerful heroine, so it follows that
she would star in a complex and highly perilous story. Each new Sazi adventure
in this thought-provoking, intense series adds further luster to an already
stellar body of work. Adams and Clamp are guaranteed page-turners! SUMMARY: For
Josette "Aspen" Monier, being an immensely powerful Sazi seer means frequently
forgetting what year you're in. It also means being a prime target for
assassination. A century ago, Josette believed she lost the man she loved, Rick
Johnson. But Rick is very much a live, and when members of the Sazi Council
desperately appeal to him for help, he can't turn them down.
Someone is slowly killing all the Sazi seers with a spell; strangely, Josette is immune, and only through her might they be able to reverse it. Rick's sudden resurrection brings Josette both joy and anger. But all that will have to wait as they try to foil not one, but two, different deadly plots.
NEW! SUE BURKE, Fresh Fiction. Shapeshifter and seer Josette Monier is among the oldest of her kind. Although separated from her people, Josette is still enough of a threat to the enemies of the Sazi that constant attempts are made on her life.
When Josette is called upon to help the Sazi, she initially refuses, but soon comes to realize that she could make all the difference in the world to her people's continuing existence. Besides the Armageddon that looms on the horizon, Josette is called upon to face her personal demons.
The man she once loved, and who deserted her, is back in her life. She now has to choose; can she risk her heart and sanity to let him back in? Or will she continue to lead a lonely, but relatively peaceful, life of solitude? Only time and fate will tell.
A superior offering for readers of paranormal romance. The Sazi world continues to grow and fascinate.
NEW! CHERE GRUVER, ParaNormal Romance Reviews. Josette Monier has lived by herself out in the middle of nowhere for quite some time now, which is exactly the way she likes it. After what her mother put her through as a child, Josette's "gift" is uncontrollable. Of course, some might see it as a curse. Josette is one of the strongest seers among the Sazi, which has caused many problems for her. For Josette doesn't only see the past, she also sees what is happening at the current time and future events. There are times when Josette becomes so caught up in her visions, she has no idea where or when she is. Not surprisingly, there have always been assassins after her, but somehow, Josette has always managed to "take care of" them. So when she finds a snake after her, a South American snake at that, Josette really isn't shocked. After all, she has a long history with the leader of the snakes, Ahmad, and none of it good. The fact this snake is from South America is a bit of a shock though and she's thankful when a friend of her sister's comes by and helps her out. This friend also happens to be a agent of Wolven and asks Josette to come in with her. After Josette flatly refuses and the agent leaves, her house is blown up. Somehow, Josette manages to survive and when she's healed enough, she takes her new identification, money and flees.
At one time, Rick Cooper was a Wolven agent. When it got to the point where he felt he was nothing more than a glorified hit man and could no longer tell right from wrong, Rick left. Everything, including his wife, Josette. Of course, leaving Josette was the one thing he has regretted ever since. Rick's gift is empathy and he needed some time alone to learn how to control that. It's not easy to kill someone when he felt what his target did. So when he receives a visit from Charles, Amber (Josette's sister and Charles' wife) and Lucas (his old boss in Wolven), Rick knows something major is happening. And, unfortunately, Rick isn't wrong. Turns out all the Sazi foreseers have somehow been blocked from their gifts and are all ill. If the spell isn't broken soon, they will all die. So they need Rick to somehow convince Josette to help them. Josette is the only seer not affected by the spell due to what her mother did. Naturally, Rick accepts the assignment hoping he will have another chance with the love of his life.
So the two of them finally meet again and the sparks fly. Now the two of them are in a race against time to save the Sazi seers with assassins after them and Josette trying to discover who is behind it all with her visions.
Will Rick be able to keep Josette safe long enough for her to save the Sazi seers? Who is behind the plot to kill the seers and Josette? Will they stay alive long enough to reach their destination? Is there a chance for a reconciliation between Josette and Rick?
TIMELESS MOON is a thrilling, danger-filled ride as two lovers meet for a second time. C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp once again come through with this thrilling story of a love meant to be. We have all the ingredients we have become used to in a story by these two authors—the wonderfully developed world of the Sazi; new characters and old; plots and subplots galore and of course, true love. And we learn more of the plot against the Sazi. Honestly, these Sazi books just don't come out quickly enough for me. I just can't wait to meet and fall in love with the next characters introduced in this series and to see how it all ends up. I cannot praise any of the books C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp write highly enough.
NEW! KELLEY HARTSELL, CK2S Kwips & Kritiques. Josette Monier is one of the most powerful Sazi, and is the strongest Seer, that has ever lived. All respect her power and many fear her. The Snake Sazi have been trying to kill her for centuries but with no success. Josette has long since been in solitude, terrified of letting anyone get to close to her as it is physically painful when her powers take control of her.
However, now Josette’s enemies have a plan that's been in the works for numerous years. They have been slowly weakening all of the powerful Seers in the Sazi community and only Josette can help them, having survived a similar attack as a child.
Rick Johnson is a powerful empath who has isolated himself in the wilderness due to the actual intense pain brought on by experiencing the emotions of everyone around him. Even his beloved Josette, whom he left centuries ago, believes him dead. Now he has come out of retirement to aid Josette in this most dangerous attempt on her life ever.
Can they
forgive each other's deceptions to find their greatest strength is their love
for one another?
I have been a huge fan of the Tales of the Sazi series ever since the release of Hunter’s Moon a few years ago. It is amazing to see how far the powerhouse duo of C T Adams and Cathy Clamp has come in their talents since. Having met Josette, known as Aspen, in earlier books, I was immediately fascinated by her and the obviously deep back story surrounding her. She is probably my absolute character in the series. So when I got the opportunity to read Timeless Moon, there was no way on earth I was going to pass it up! I am very happy to report that once again Cie and Cathy blew me away with the intensity of this story. I couldn’t bear the thought of putting it down for even a minute until I finished it.
There is initially some confusion here and there as Josette’s visions take her all over time and space, but once I got used to it, I was able to readily discern when visions were beginning or ending and we returned to real time. Even Josette admits to getting confused by the jumps through time she experiences, so I’m not surprised I did for a short while as well. There is also some confusion a time or two due to the name change of Josette from her previous name Aspen. It is completely understandable that she had to change her name over time since the Sazi do live for centuries and can’t give away their secret however, so in that respect as well, once I got the hang of it, I was fine. (Josette usually refers to herself as Josette, as does Rick, and most everyone else refers to her as Aspen.) Those two factors were the only things I had any trouble with throughout the book.
As I expected, Josette’s story is every bit as intriguing and complex as she is. We are grabbed by the throat immediately upon entering the story and the intensity does not let up for even a minute since so much is happening all at once. Then there is the fact that Josette only has about three days to rescue the rest of the seers, including Sazi leader Charles, from dying. The plot against the Seers and Josette is very dramatic and so incredibly malicious that it may make your hair rise as you race through the pages to see what will happen next.
Don’t let the fast pace and active plot fool you though, Adams and Clamp are masters of world building and character development, so the expected passionate love story is present, as are the little details of Sazi society we fans find so appealing. The love story of Rick and Josette is heartbreakingly powerful, as we see them overcome the errors of their past to accept that their lives are not complete without each other. There is also a touching story about a young raptor girl that Josette takes under her wing to try and teach her the ways of their people. We see a whole other side of Josette through this relationship.
As we delve deeper into the world of the Sazi through this series, events unfolding in different books start to come together to give an even bigger picture of what is occurring in their world. We learn a little bit more about the Sazi in every book, as different facts are revealed and explained. This is one of the most exciting things about the series, rather than dump a whole pile of information on our heads at one time as so many authors do, Cathy and Cie dole out small pieces in each book that give a greater understanding of their world.
I just can’t say enough wonderful things about Timeless Moon. So rather than bore you with glowing accolade after glowing accolade, I’m going to stop right here and tell you to go buy this book as soon as it is released! Then, you can experience the incredible story for yourself.
NEW! STACY COOPER, Paranormal Romance Writers (A Romance Designs Company). Rank 7, 7, 10. C.T. Adams and Cathy Clamp are back with a new installment in the Sazi series. This time we meet Josette, who has relegated herself to a self imposed exile due to her abilities as a seer to see the past, present and future. She is an old and powerful shifter that many want dead, both human and Sazi alike.
Josette has suffered much in her lifetime and now is not different. There are hard decisions for a strong seer, because changing the future could be devastating. She envisions a future that she is not a part of and one where she has both a mate and a man from her past, who she still loves.
Rick was married to Josette a century ago. One day he disappeared and Josette mourned him, until she had a vision of him that set her off on a journey to help save the Sazi people.
The Sazis have been targeted for extinction and it is up to Rick and Josette to stop unknown assailants that have targeted all the Sazi seers who have the gift of foresight.
Timeless Moon is a journey through time. It is entertaining and an obvious kickoff to a new flood of Sazi books. The story uses visions to effectively travel through time and show what’s going on in the world.
Josette and Rick have both lived alone for many years and must come to terms with the changes that time has wrought on them both. Josette has become hardened after hundreds of assassination attempts on her life and Rick is an empath, who has a hard time separating his feelings from those around him. He still has an idealized love of Josette and no idea that she now has a mate.
It’s important to note that in the Sazi world many shifters have mates that they don’t live with. They are chemically drawn to them, but many have fallen in love with others and begun lives with people other than their mates. It is an interesting twist on the idea of animals and mates and works to complicate the personal and business lives of many of the Sazi people.
